Owner of G-links, makers of honey and fruit-based products, Garvin Glasgow, said “There is an opportunity for people who are serious-minded and innovative to use what is available so that they can create livelihood opportunities. Now for us to have brought to market these products we had to be innovative by inventing the machine that allowed us to dry or remove excess moisture using the air just like the bees will do in their hives. We have also invented the machine to help us extract the honey from the comb using stainless steel...."

Grenadian honey is world class. This was proven when the Grenadian honey exhibits won the first six places in the 3A Open category at this year’s honey show in England which took place from November 14-16.

Six beekeepers achieved international recognition for Grenada when they were awarded the first six prizes in the international section of the prestigious 2002 London Honey Show. For a tiny island no bigger than a pinhead on the world map this is a remarkable accomplishment.

LONDON, England, Friday November 13, 2015 –The highly coveted Medal of Ukraine, which is awarded to the best honey in the world outside of the British Isles, was won this year by a boutique organic apiary from the Caribbean island of Grenada.

LONDON, England -- For the second straight year, the Jessamine Eden apiary in Grenada has won the first prize for the best honey in the world at the 85th annual UK International Honey Show in London. The apiary was awarded the Henders Cup, a challenge trophy donated by the Federation of Irish Beekeepers since 1973, which is sought after by competitive beekeepers from all around the world.

Jessamine Eden Apiary in Grenada has again won the highly-regarded Medal of Ukraine Gold Award at the 87th UK National Honey Show held in Surrey, England, the last weekend in October. There were 21 entries from 13 countries, including New Zealand, USA, Kuwait, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago competing in the International Class for clear honey, the most difficult class in the three-day competition. Jessamine Eden Apiary is the only beekeeper in the Caribbean to win the award and the only one in the world that has won the Medal of Ukraine more than once.
